This year's theme is Profiles in Human Adversity where we examine the life of dystonia patients, HIV/AIDS in Africa, and the unique nursing experience in the throes of Hurricane Katrina. On Thursday March 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Bartley Hall Room 1011, hear Theresa Boyer Hess, BSN, RN, a 1998 graduate of the College of Nursing, tell her story of facing the Hurricane Katrina calamity while working at a busy city hospital. Moving into a civilian role after seven years of Navy nursing, Hess was a new nurse on the bone marrow transplant unit when tragedy struck New Orleans. She tells of disaster nursing — a time of critical decisions and actions in a deteriorating environment. Her message is an affirmation of what it means to be a nurse. Research Symposium. All are invited to the annual Research Symposium in the Villanova Room on the afternoon of March 20. For more details, contact Dr. Marguerite Schlag. Tell us your news. Please remember to share your news with us, including your organization's significant events and anniversaries. The College of Nursing will acknowledge them but we need your help! You may contact Ann Barrow McKenzie with any updates. Nursing Administration Certification Review and Update.
